V1247 Ori and MWC 758 are PMS disks with planet candidates. In v1247 Ori, a planet is the most likely source of the single-arm spiral seen in ALMA and corinagraphic images. Another candidate was detected at ~6 AU using sparse aperture masking interferometry. It moves with Keplerian speed for that distance from the star. MWC 758 has a recently-detected planet candidate detected with coronagraphy, and the disk has an appearance that may be epoch-dependent, perhaps shadowed by an orbiting disk pressure-bump generated by a planet. Both objects possess variations in thermal dust emission and atomic emission line strengths [the He I line of V1247 Ori can be in emission or absorption]. Closer planets located 'beneath the coronagraphic spot' require other means of detection, especially if their geometry makes them poor candidates for transit and RV searches. Coordinated interferometry and spectroscopy can be applied to examine the inner architectures in these systems. This proposal is aimed at obtaining the needed spectroscopy. It is expected that the observed spectroscopic [line and continuum] changes will occur on an orbital time scale of the innermost dust 'wall' of the dust+gas disk. SpeX obsevations on a time scale of a few days over 2 orbital periods will be used in both coordinated spectroscopic-interferometric campaigns, as well as to define the relevant time scales needed to plan future interferometric observations.
