# # Program information file # PROGRAM_ID 2024A995 PROGRAM_TITLE SpeX Monitoring of UX Tau A PROGRAM_INV1 John Wendeborn PROGRAM_INV2 PROGRAM_INV3 PROGRAM_INV4 PROGRAM_INV5 PROGRAM_SCICAT galactic/interstellar medium PROGRAM_ABSTRACT_BEG We will observe UX Tau A, a T Tauri star in the Taurus star-forming region. JWST observations have revealed significant variability in the MIR continuum of this object. The MIR continuum is tracing emission from the inner disk rim, which also emits radiation in the NIR. Here we will use SpeX to measure the timescale of NIR variability in UX Tau A. With these SpeX observations we will test if the variability is related to material at the co-rotation radius. The stellar rotation period of UX Tau A is 5 days. PROGRAM_ABSTRACT_END
