CW Leo (IRC+10216) will be observed with SpeX/LXD and Prism modes. The lxd for the spectral shape and the prism to get a good absolute level) of both CW Leo and a cal star. We will use this to calibrate a space-based sensor that is facing a lot of challenges. CW Leo has proven to be an interesting variable with unique attributes, not the least of which is its brightness enabling characterization of features that might not have adequate SNR in fainter similar objects to be able to be studied.
