Bayesian retrieval methods offer a new powerful means for robustly establishing physical parameters of brown dwarfs. We propose to complete SpeX observations for a volume-limited sample of T dwarfs [d<25 pc, DEC = -35 to +70 degs] to determine their atmospheric and compositional properties. Our work will illuminate trends in their emergent fluxes and spectra with their underlying physical properties, as well as place the local substellar population in context with similar data for solar-type stars.
