# # Program information file # PROGRAM_ID 2021A009 PROGRAM_TITLE Characterization of Small Near-Earth Objects PROGRAM_INV1 Vishnu Reddy PROGRAM_INV2 Juan Sanchez PROGRAM_INV3 Ben Sharkey PROGRAM_INV4 Adam Battle PROGRAM_INV5 PROGRAM_SCICAT solar system PROGRAM_ABSTRACT_BEG The central focus of our NASA funded NEOO Program grant is to determine the compositions and albedos of small NEOs [<150 meters] in order: [a] to better understand their relationships to meteorites and main-belt asteroids, and [b] to address the specific NASA NEOO program goal of assessment of the NEO impact hazard by finding meteorite analogs for NEOs. The results of our work directly support NEO Surveyor spacecraft mission. We are also supporting a NASA Planetary Defense Campaign to test operational readiness of the IRTF in March 2021 as part of the Apophis exercise. PROGRAM_ABSTRACT_END
