This proposal is to study runaway volatile migration on the large, ice-covered TNO Makemake. Specifically, the proposal's goals are to [1] confirm and characterize Makemake's recently reported 22.8 hr visible lightcurve with IRTF/MORIS by measuring two complete periods during six full nights within a 15 to 20 night span, and [2] to simultaneously measure or place meaningful limits on compositional variation across Makemake's surface from infrared spectra with IRTF/SpeX/SXD.
