PROGRAM_ABSTRACT_BEG
We propose to address two science questions: 1] What is the gas composition and cloud structure of Jupiter along the ground-track of the Juno microwave radiometer [MWR]; and 2] which cloud layers are responsible for the dramatic change in appearance in Jupiter's Equatorial Zone in the past 3 years? We plan to use iSHELL to measure gaseous H2O, NH3, and water clouds on Jupiter along the ground track of the MWR and to characterize changes in volatiles and clouds in Jupiter's EZ. One iSHELL wavelength setting will cover Jupiter's entire 5-micron window.
