2006-05-22 TCS3 Engineering - Pointing RUN.

When: 2006.05.22 Who: Tony D, with Dave G (operator). What: We are using tcs1 to run the telescope, but recording tpoint data via tcs3. 1. Benchmark 1 Datafile: benchmark1.dat 40 start, 16.5 degrees. Tony used "script bm1.txt" & 't3io info PT EN' to record tcs3 J2000 position. Taking start data from 'benchmark1.dat' and compare it to the J2000 position in 'bm1.txt', this should tell how we the current map is working. Conclusion Here is a graph comparing bm1_diff.dat & bm2_diff.dat. graph1.pdf New coeff seem to work better! The next day I found a bad data point in the pointing file. Removed the point and used tpoint to recalculate the pointing map pointing.dat.bad - original file. pointing.dat - file with bad point removed. Suggestions: Message after last star - "That's the last star" or indicate ( % done? ). Add to documentation: At Zenith, Re-initialize position from APES. on pointing file, aux data can be RA DEC of Mean J2000 in radians (to compare to col 1 & 2 ).
