Subject: homework: to-do list for Computers & Software.

Hi John,

Here is my spex to-do list for Computers & Software

1. BigDog House - Current the bigdog and Guidedog VME computer are not in
a 19" rack. I though we going to put these computer in an old DEC
mini-rack. Once they are rack-mounted then the following is needed:

   a. 2 each tray to hold keyboard & mouse.

   b. Video switch and cable to view console local and to transmit the
   console display to the control room.

2. MIM Rack (littledog) - Currently little dog / temp control / power
supplies are housed in a 19" rack. Is this just a temporary rack.  Are the
component going to be transferred to MIM individually after shipment or
can we put them in a rack that can be mounted on MIM. In any case, the
following is need:

   a. The RPC3 unit to control the cal lamp needs to be mounted and hooked 
   up to lamp power supply units. I think the RPC3 is overkill: How about 
   using a TTL controlled power outlet.

3. Littledog Applications

   Add cal lamp control for the RPC3 unit.

4. IC  Application

   Test the completed modes: Sim, Basic, Movie, SlowGuide. John need to 
   tell me if they are good enough.

   FastGuide mode: Need to specify requirements, design, code and test.

   Figure out how guest account/user are going to run spex.

5. XUI Applications

   GTK: port of ldisplay to gtk+ (waiting for glib 1.3 fix for unix signal
   support).

6. DV application

   Would like to take some image of all grating modes. Maybe we can make a
   quick spectra display on DV.

7. Work on documentation

   Some documentation is written. How much is enough?

update the software menu if this list is ready.
