The workhop will be held at "HOTEL SPA PORTA MARIS" (http://www.hotelspaportamaris.com/home-ing.htm), one of the newest and best placed hotels in town. This is a "three star" hotel, but keep in mind that Spanish standards in hotels are far better than in most other European countries (i.e.: typically a "three-star" hotel in Spain is equivalent to, but far cheaper, than a "four-star" hotel in the rest of Europe). It offers "SPA" services (see rates on their web page).
We have blocked 60 rooms at this hotel until March 26th, 2007. After this deadline, rates remain the same, BUT availability is not guaranteed.
NOTE ADDED 04/04/07: The Hotel Spa Porta Maris has agreed to keep another 15 rooms blocked for meeting participants UNTIL APRIL 20th. After that date, you will still be able to make your reservation depending on room availability.

Even though we strongly recommend staying at this hotel, many other fine lodging options are available in the downtown area, if you just want to be on your own. If your budget for lodging is way below the rates given above and you are not eligible for a grant, please let us know and we will suggest alternative accommodations.
It is possible to have lunch at the hotel at a rate of around 25 Euros, including drinks. It would be a fixed menu (not buffet), changing every day. The Hotel will need to know which days you would like to have lunch at the Hotel a couple of weeks before the beginning of the workshop (Please, remember we have scheduled the trip to Tabarca on Wednesday, June 27th). Many restaurants and bars are in the tourist area of the harbor, close to the hotel (a 5 minute walk), and downtown (a 10 minute walk, suitable for those colleagues used to walking under the summer sunshine at noon, around latitude 38°).

Cancellation policy:
The Hotel Spa Porta Maris will not charge you at all if you cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before your expected check in time. You will be charged for the first night if you cancel your reservation within 48 hours of your expected check in.
