The IRTF Data Archive (IDA) Project

Our purpose is to provide data to the NASA IRTF Archive at IRSA. It hosts:

SpeX data from 2016B,
iSHELL data from 2017A.

IDA also:

maintains the IRTF Legacy Archive (raw observing data from 2000B to 2016A for public access);
maintains a staff-only archive containing data from 2016B to the present.

IDA News

2024/07- The 2023B data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 256,356 FITS files (60,263 bigdog, 100,718 guidedog, 16,444 cartman, 66,048 kyle).
2023/09- The 2023A data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 150,594 FITS files (43,700 bigdog, 38,096 guidedog, 14,815 cartman, 53,983 kyle).
2023/04 - The Texes archive is now available in the IRTF Archive at IRSA, showing up under instruments.
2023/03- The 2022B data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 67,129 FITS files (19,772 bigdog, 25,365 guidedog, 10,458 cartman, 11,534 kyle).
2022/08- The 2022A data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 260,176 FITS files (64,485 bigdog, 152,940 guidedog, 13,205 cartman, 29,546 kyle).
2022/03- The 2021B data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 185,434 FITS files (51,044 bigdog, 91,746 guidedog, 15,110 cartman, 27,534 kyle).
2021/10- The 2021A data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 142,957 FITS files (48,160 bigdog, 52,001 guidedog, 14,295 cartman, 28,501 kyle).
2021/09- The IRTF legacy storage array was expanded from 45TB from 100TB. The current legacy data, 2000B-2021A, occupies 45TB.
2021/04- The 2020B data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 236,767 FITS files (66,748 bigdog, 111,447 guidedog, 20,732 cartman, 37,840 kyle).
2020/11- The 2020A data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 208206 FITS files (38014 bigdog, 104503 guidedog, 19164 cartman, 46525 kyle).
The 2020A data is the 1st data set with the Quality Assesment (QA) information.
2020/03- IRSA is now hosting a copy of the following additional IRTF data.
1. IRTF Spectral Library and Extended Spectral Libary.
2. MEarth - SpeX spectra of 498 M dwarfs within 33 pc.

2020/03- The 2019B data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 99993 FITS files (30094 bigdog, 38583 guidedog, 17096 cartman, 14220 kyle).
2019/09- The 2019A data (SpeX and iSHELL) was delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 145148 FITS files ( 43034 bigdog, 41524 guidedog, 13599 cartman, 46991 kyle).
2019/06- The IRTF Legacy Archive is opened on June 11, 2019.
2019/04- The 2018B data (SpeX and ISHELL) is delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 250248 FITS files ( 55822 bigdog, 118281 guidedog, 26490 cartman, 49655 kyle).
2018/11- The 2018A data (SpeX and ISHELL) is delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 106958 FITS files ( 30775 bigdog, 31579 guidedog, 11051 cartman, 33553 kyle).
2018/04- The 2017B data (SpeX and ISHELL) is delivered to IRSA.
This delivery contains 139458 FITS files ( 41449 bigdog, 25217 guidedog, 19239 cartman, 53553 kyle).
2018/02- The IRTF Archive at IRSA is now operational.
2018/02- The IRTF legacy data was expanded to 45TB from 20TB. The 2000-2017A data takes 25TB.
2018/01- The 2017A data is delivered to IRSA - The 2017A data includes SpeX and ISHELL.
This delivery contains 211793 FITS files ( 44815 bigdog, 94246 guidedog, 27709 cartman, 45023 kyle).
2017/12- The IRTF Data Release Policy is here: IRTF Data Release Policy
2017/11- The 2016B SpeX data is delivered to IRSA - this is the 1st data delivery by the IRTF. This delivery contains 83374 FITS files ( 38703 bigdog, 44671 guidedog )
2015/05- NASA's task order awarded the IRTF "Task Order Plan for the IRTF Public Data Archiving"
