2011 Oct 29 TCS3 Engineering (Denault, Volquardsen )
Note: Setting the irtf polycom camera to 'document' give provides you with smokey's video.
Goals
TCS3 pointing run. (1nd half of night, 6pm-12:00pm)
This run was prompt by then change of encoder ratios notice during Oct2011.
1. Encoder Measurement
On 27Oct, G.Koenig using the laser to comfirm the encoder
is working proper. After 5 resolution of the encoder, the laser
spot was OK.
Encoder measure done during the day on 28Oct.
Will use new tcs with updated encoder ratios.

Used smokey the guider and took data to see how bad the tracking is.
Look at how far the star difted after 5 min.

3. Take Pointing Data
Switching to tcs software V111029.
A quick tracking check at zenith gives a drift rate of -0.002795,-0.001863 ... Better!

Sep: 13 (gives 70 starts).
EricV finished taking data at 9:12 (about 1 hours)
At zenith ape - encoder is: -25. 5.8
bad data with irtf fit: mask 1, 2, 69, 70, 57
RMS is 15.18
Tried masking all dec value above 50 and others: 1, 2, 7, 8, 21, 22, 35, 36, 37, 49, 50 63, 64, 65, 70
RMS is 13.18

Used tpoint to get new coefficients:
pointing.ps
pointing.pdf - tpoint graphs (postscript and PDF)
pointing_coeff.txt - resulting coefficients.
Sky RMS = 15.84
Updated .tcs-init with new coefficients
die, and restarted TCS to read new .tcs-init file.

apes.set.pmac to zero encoders.

HA, Dec benchmark looks similiar to the last pointing run,
Will keep the new pointing coefficients.
