Fourth Quarter 1994
SpeX received NSF funding late July 1994. Activity
in this quarter focused on investigating potential
optical design concepts and the degree to which these
concepts meet the scientific goals of the instrument.
Four design concepts are being studied:
- grating dispersion + grating cross dispersion
- grating dispersion + grism cross dispersion
- grating dispersion + single-pass prism cross dispersion
- grating dispersion + double-pass prism cross dispersion
Ms. Shu-i Wang was contracted to help the PI with the optical
design.
