Guest Account for Remote Observing

1.1. Requirements

A ssh client is the only requirement to create a guest account remotely.

1.2. How to create a guest account remotely

1. Login to stefan.ifa.hawaii.edu using a command line secure shell.

   % ssh addguest@stefan.ifa.hawaii.edu

2. Type in the password. You may get the password by calling your support astronomer or Miranda Hawarden-Ogata (808 932-2380)
   

3. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the account setup procedure. You will need your three-digit program number (found on the observing schedule) to obtain an account.

4. Note: You may have to wait up to ten minutes before you can log into your new guest account.
